Tremco Soft Type Backer Rod is a soft, pliable joint backing material designed for use behind sealants in expansion and contraction joints.

The 1-1/8" diameter rod helps establish proper sealant depth, provides a consistent backing surface for tooling and prevents three-sided adhesion. This allows the sealant to accommodate joint movement effectively while promoting proper joint design and long-term sealant performance.

Its soft, easily compressible construction makes installation simple, while the non-gassing material helps reduce the risk of sealant blistering if the backer rod is accidentally punctured during installation.
