ZIP System™ R-Sheathing R-12 is an integrated exterior wall sheathing solution that combines structural sheathing, continuous exterior insulation, and a built-in air and water-resistive barrier into a single panel.

The R-12 panel features 2" of rigid polyisocyanurate insulation bonded to ZIP System structural sheathing, providing R-12 continuous insulation outside the wall framing. By placing insulation continuously across the exterior of the structure, ZIP R-Sheathing helps reduce thermal bridging through studs and improves the overall thermal performance of the wall assembly.

The exterior face incorporates ZIP System's integrated water-resistive barrier, eliminating the need for a separate layer of traditional housewrap. When panel seams and penetrations are properly sealed using compatible ZIP System flashing tape or liquid flashing, the system provides a continuous air and water-resistive exterior enclosure.

ZIP System R-Sheathing is designed to simplify high-performance wall construction by combining multiple building-envelope components into one installation step. The integrated system can reduce material handling and installation steps while providing structural support, exterior insulation, air control, and water management.

R-12 is particularly suited for high-performance and energy-efficient construction where substantial continuous exterior insulation is required to improve effective wall R-values and reduce heat loss through framing.
